Happy Eating, Healthy Living!
At Farmers on the Square, we aim to make sure everyone in our community to access high-quality foods that fit into a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Of course, that takes a lot more than just getting those foods into town! Through our educational events such as cooking demos and distributing informational resources, we are working to make healthy living more accessible for everyone. If you want to help with these efforts or share a resource that you think belongs on this page, don't hesitate to contact us!
Recipes & Education

Fresh, whole foods are a powerful tool for improving nutrition, but it's not always easy to know what to do with them! In addition to occasional cooking demonstrations and recipe handouts at the market, we encourage everyone to explore some of our partners' resources to improve their toolbox of culinary know-how and ideas.

Cooking Classes for Kids and Adults at Project SHARE in Carlisle
Project SHARE
We are proud to partner with Project SHARE, Carlisle's local food pantry. Every Wednesday, vendors are encouraged to donate unsold products to the pantry to help feed our neighbors. If you are experiencing food insecurity, check out the "Get Help" section of their website or call them at (717) 249-7773 to learn about how they can assist you!
Having Difficulty Paying for Food?
Healthy lifestyles can be difficult to maintain on a tight budget. At Farmers on the Square, we are proud to welcome and accept food assistance benefits such as SNAP and WIC and provide matching funds through our Fresh Match program. If you are experiencing trouble affording fresh and nutritious food for your family, we encourage you to reach out to our partners at Tapestry of Health for free, personal assistance applying for benefits.
